We gather around books, stories, and sisterhood.
Socialight Society is a virtual bookshop and community space celebrating Black women and Black literature.
We curate books, host pop-up events, and create room for faith-filled conversations that inspire joy, connection, and purpose.

Where Stories Meet Sisterhood.
Socialight Society began as a cozy storefront in Lansing, Michigan, a sanctuary for Black women who loved books and belonging.
Today, we’ve grown into a global movement. Our shelves live online now, and our gatherings pop up wherever women come together to read, reflect, and celebrate.
We’re still the same heart-centered space with a wider reach—proof that even when the walls fall, the light remains.
THE LIVING BOOKSHELF.
Our shelves live online, but the heart of our bookstore hasn’t changed. Each book is handpicked to inspire faith, reflection, and joy. Every purchase through our Bookshop.org page supports Socialight Society and independent bookstores across the country.
Because every story we share keeps the light alive.
