Womanist Wonder is an independent zine written and created by Nyshell Watson.

Issue 01, Gathering Ourselves, begins with a question: What does it mean to return to ourselves and gather every version of the Black woman we’ve been along the way?

Across essays, poetry, book notes, and archival reflections, Nyshell explores womanism as something we study, inherit, practice, and live. This first issue honors the Black women whose words have helped us name ourselves, including Alice Walker, Audre Lorde, Lucille Clifton, Toni Morrison, Patricia Hill Collins, and more.
